OMOP Network Enters New Phase

In 2024, HDR UK established the Health Data Research OMOP Network for the UK (HERON-UK) – previously known as the Real-World Evidence Network. The network was originally funded for a one-year pilot phase from June 2024 to June 2025, during which seven data partners were recruited and onboarded and the network successfully conducted two studies. We’re delighted to announce that the network has now been funded for a second year.

The network will continue with the existing coordinating centre based in NDORMS at the University of Oxford, and the current seven data partners:

In Year 2 the network will update, enrich and characterise its OMOP data sets, and conduct a study on cardiovascular disease.
