The Gateway will act as a one-stop-shop destination to access, manage and drive the ethical and safe use of data, exploiting cutting-edge analytics and big data technologies to improve health outcomes for people across the UK.
Phase 1 is the development of the Gateway MVP, comprised of two main parts:
- The Gateway Portal (MVP) will providing an exemplary user experience to supporting researchers and innovators in easily searching for relevant datasets and exploring associated metadata, and to support requesting access to the datasets. Health Data Research UK is seeking supplier(s) to design and develop the portal and the procurement for delivering this work is being hosted by the Government Digital Service’s Digital Marketplace.
- A Metadata Catalogue will provide the functionality to manage the datasets that will be discoverable through the Gateway Portal. Health Data Research UK is looking to procure a web-hosted backend application for this. The procurement for delivering this work is hosted by Health Data Research UK.
Bidders are being sought to develop the Gateway Portal and deliver the Metadata Catalogue. For more information on the development and procurement process please visit the Gateway Development page. HDR UK would also welcome proposals that would cover the provision of both components.
A total of £330,000 is available for the Phase 1 development of the Gateway Portal and Metadata Catalogue as part of the Digital Innovation Hub Programme. The Programme is funded by UK Research and Innovation’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, receiving £37.5M as part of the Data to Early Diagnosis and Precision Medicine Challenge.
